Disclose Bankruptcy to Your Agent Early in the SELLING process

(I am not an attorney. These are just my opinions)

When you are thinking of SELLING a piece of property, whether it is Residential, Land, or Commercial property, disclose any bankruptcy you might be in to your real estate agent as early as possible. It might be better to delay putting your property on the market. You should also notify your bankruptcy attornies as soon as possible that you intend to sell your property. This will give them time to start working on a plan to help you complete the sale smoothly and they can guide you through the process. From my experience in Kansas and Missouri, you have to get approval from the bankruptcy court/judge in order to sell your property. Sometimes this can take months and could delay the sale.  Don't wait until two weeks before closing to disclose your bankruptcy or you could be in for a dissapointment.
