Kids’ Fishing Derby Fishing is an American tradition that has much to offer young children. Not only does fishing give children the thrill and satisfaction of catching a fish, but more importantly, fishing gives youngsters the chance to experience the outdoors and to spend time with their family and friends. This event is co-sponsored by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks and Cops N’ Bobbers. Worms and fishing poles will be provided, however you are encouraged to bring your own pole if you have one. Prizes will be given along with a barbeque lunch and goodie bags to the kids.

India Fest 2014 This is the third year that India Association of Kansas City (IAKC) a non profit organization is hosting this event and this year the theme of the Fest is “Festivals Of India”. India Fest has grown in size each year and is expected to draw over 6000 visitors. India Fest will provide a glimpse of India and its subcontinent’s art, culture, history and people. This is an event filled with tastes, arts, crafts, sounds and sights of India with food and entertainment available all day. Shop, Savor, engage and have an experience that is one of its kind while getting an opportunity to witness the cultural diversity of one of the largest countries in the world. There will be cultural activities throughout the day including music and dance both traditional Indian and the popular contemporary Bollywood. There will also be featured items showcasing some of the popular festivals of India. The highlight of the cultural segment will be a gala “FESTIVALS OF INDIA – Fashion Parade”. Visitors will also have an opportunity to shop from over 60+ vendor booths displaying Indian artifacts, clothing, jewelry, art and crafts etc. Many local businesses like financial advisors, real estate agents, educational facilities, hotels, auto dealer, event planners and many more will be there with special promotions. Our title sponsor RODROCK HOMES will have a special booth. There will be booths with information on Indian culture, regions and religions showcasing the diversity of the country. Popular area restaurants will have booths serving mouth watering Indian Cuisines. Experts will provide services like Henna, threading, face painting, Tattoo and much more. Raffle prizes every two hours and activities to keep the kids engaged and make them learn about India with fun games, competitions and prizes. Come and experience the Wonder Called India.
