Farmers’ Market Season is Here!

Tomorrow (Saturday, May 18th) is the start of several area local farmers’ markets, and we know people are excited to get some excellent homegrown produce and fun home-produced products.

The Spring Hill Market (http://springhillmarket.org/) and the Paola Market (http://www.paolafarmersmarket.org/) both open tomorrow!

The Paola Farmers’ Market, located in the Park Square, is open to the public on Saturdays from 7:30 to 11:00 a.m. from May 19th through September 22nd.  Vendors may only sell homegrown or home produced merchandise.

The Spring Hill Farmers’ Market is held in the elementary school marking lot on Webster, and is open on Saturdays from 7:30am to noon, May 18th through September 1st.  Venders (and their products) must be from within 50 miles of Spring Hill!

The Olathe Farmers’ Market (http://www.olatheks.org/ParksRec/Farmers) and the Overland Park Farmers’ Market (http://www.downtownop.org/farmers-market/) have been open for a couple weeks already, but if you haven’t already made it there, Olathe’s is at 200 W. Santa Fe in downtown Olathe. Open Saturdays 8am – sold.  And Overland Park’s is located on Marty Street between 79th & 80th in downtown Overland Park.

And of course, our area’s most famous farmers’ market, The City Market, is open year round, but summers are always the most fun and promising time to visit!  Plus, this local legend was recently featured in the Midwest Living Magazine!  Check out their site for some great farmers’ market recipes that you can make after your shopping is done tomorrow!  http://www.midwestliving.com/food/fruits-veggies/farmers-market-recipes/
