Since, April 15th fell on a Sunday this year, you actually have until Tuesday, April 17th to file!  Whether you are getting a refund or writing a check, doing your taxes can still be stressful.

However, if you are a homeowner at least you have some great deduction possibilities!  The biggest one for most people is of course the amount you pay in mortgage interest.

In the very recent past, the National Association of Realtors® has spent countless hours and millions of dollars campaigning for congress to keep this deduction in the books.  Luckily, thanks to hard work of Realtors® across the nation, it looks like this is here to stay at least in the near future.

Some other tax deductions for homeowners include:

• real estate taxes
• and in many circumstances, “green updates” like new windows, appliances, etc.
